MINUTES: D.R.Y.L. Meeting, National Park Boat Club 11/01/Õ05
OPENING:
Pres. Bocock opened the meeting at 2015 hours with the pledge of allegiance to the flag. The League was welcomed to NPBC by the Past Commodore John Friars.
Roll call of officers and committee heads:
Officers, all present except 3rd VP Butch Gricco and Fin. Sec. Phyllis Blakeby who were excused. Joe Campbell served as temporary Fin. Secr. & Treasurer;
All Comm. Hds present except Doc. Borgersen, flt sur.; Toni Nespola(excÕd), pageant; Butch Gricco(excÕd), picnic; Bob Rupinski, PA and Fred Saunders, regatta.
Roll call of clubs and/or associations:
Representatives from 28 member clubs were present. Absent clubs included Bridesburg O. C., Bristol, Columbus, Del. Florence Twp., Paulsboro Sportsmen, Raccon Creek, Tri-state and Salem.
Columbus CC has 4 consecutive absences; Paulsboro Sportsmen’s Assn. has not been present at any meeting in the year Ô05.
Approval of the Minutes:
The minutes of the previous meeting were accepted with corrections.

reported on receiving an acknowledgement from Toni Nespola regarding the floral arrangement sent by the League to celebrate the birth of son Ryan included was also picture of Ryan.Audit and Budget:

Joe Campbell reported on the scheduled banquet on February 25, 2006 at Cannstatters. Schedule cocktails 6--7p; dinner 7p; ceremonies 8p; live music & dancing till 12m. Price $42.00 per person. Menu includes prime rib of beef, flounder stuffed with crabmeat;Boater Voter Coalition:
Jerry Donofrio mentioned that Farragut Sportsmen’s Assoc.‘s site has been designated as a historical site.C.B.Y.C.A:

National(NBF): Jerry Donofrio reporting: Sen. R. SantorumÕs (RPa) bill to change NOAAÕs wireless weather forecasts has been revived; designations of USCG operational area nomenclature has been changed to Sectors;. highway bill has been approved to release $500m of collected marine fuel tax funds for use as grant to improve boating infrastructure conditions; HR 889 U.S. Coast Guard appropriation list announced also requires marine related industries to report lost equipment which could be hazardous to navigation; Loran navigation equipment shall be maintained and upgraded to continue service. Will provide navigation services should GPS be shut down or degraded.

Pennsylvania Boating Assoc./PBA(se): PBAse meeting on Nov.16th@ Delaware River YC. Dinner and lighthouse presentation.

Yearbook:
June Donofrio reporting. June thanked all of the artists who participated in the 06 yearbook cover competition, 12 entries were judged. The winning design was submitted by J. Weiner, NPBC, with honorable mention to entries from East End YC and Neshaminy Harbor. Also mentioned the need for fleet page entries and commercial ads.UNFINISHED BUSINESS
West End Commodore Tom Murphy expressed his appreciation for the League’s participation in the memorial service for Louise Rodgers, Rear Commodore.
NEW BUSINESS
League Officer Nominations. The following persons were nominated for elected positions.

Nominations from the floor will be accepted prior to voting.
President Bocock recommended that more than one person should be designated as a check signer.
A motion was made, seconded and approved to provide Miss DRYL with funds($300) to attend the CBYCA Ball.
