Anchor Yacht Club

Celebrating Their Opening Day

IMG-8212.JPG

Saturday was a much different day than Friday what a difference a day makes.  It was a sunny and warm Saturday opposed to windy and chilly Friday.  The Gods above played nice with Anchor Y.C. giving them a beautiful day to raise their burgee and the American Flag.  I think the large showing of members and visiting clubs Officers was a sign that everyone just wanted to get out with friends after a year of being cooped up.  Also worth noting, there was a new moon or super-moon.  If you were down by or on the water you saw what the moon can do to a Tide.  It was an extremely low blowout tide in all the years on the river that was a low tide like one I never saw before.  It made for a challenge for the Queen and Princesses to walk down the ramp to the dock to lay the memorial wreath in the river during the ceremony.  Other than that all went well and as planned and the 2021 boating season was opened at A.Y.C.

Here are some pictures from the ceremony …..
