Happy Hour Yacht Club Minutes
MINUTES D.R.Y.L. Meeting at Riverside VFW hosted by Happy Hour YC on January 2, 2007
OPENING: President Jusino opened the meeting @ 8:05pm. The League was welcomed by Happy Hour Commodore, John Garlotta.

OFFICERS & COMMITTEE REPORTS
President: President Jusino stated that outbursts at meetings will not be tolerated participants will be asked to leave or will be removed. Juice extended his best wishes for the holiday season, welcomed new officers and thanked everyone who attended the CBYCA Ball to represent the DRYL. He also asked for well wishes to webmaster, Byron Campbell, who is recovering from recent surgery. Nominations for Club of the Year and/or Person(s) of the Year should be brought to the next meeting. Nominations should be typed and enough copies to be distributed.
1st Vice President: John Maloney announced Delaware Valley Water Keepers representative will be attending the February DRYL meeting.
2nd Vice President: Butch Gricco thanked the League for voting him in and had no report.
3rd Vice President: Steve Zielinski thanked the League for voting him to office and had no report.
Banquet: To be held at Cannstatters on February 24, 2007 at 7:00pm til midnight tickets are $42/pp. Contact Colleen Maloney or Mary Jusino. This year, we will have a DJ instead of a live band. DRYL covers beer, wine and soda. Committee is looking for clubs to donate door prizes.
Cruise: Bob Grace announced that the cruise will be family oriented and will be July 14 July 20, 2007. Itinerary not yet finalized. Applications will be available at the next meeting. Everyone is welcome to participate.
Fleet Surgeon: Doc Borgersen suggested to "tough out" coughs and flu by drinking lots of fluids and taking Tylenol. If not better in 4-5 days, call your doctor.
Pageant: Toni Nespola acknowledged princesses in attendance. No report.
Picnic: Joey Gricco announced the picnic will be September 8, 2007; location still to be determined.
Public Affairs: No report
Regatta: No report
Safety: No report
Shoreline Planning: Nothing new to report
Webmaster: No report as Bryon is recuperating
Yearbook: Juice and Bill Broadwater will be assuming yearbook duties until a new chairperson can be found. Juice appointed all three vice presidents to assist with the yearbook. Club pages and advertising must be submitted by February meeting.
Boater Voter: No report
CBYCA: No report. However, the CBYCA Ball was December 10, 2006 and there was a very nice turn out from DRYL.
National Boating Federation (NBF): No report
Pennsylvania Boating Association (PBA): Rex Beers reported that John Perzel was ousted from the House and Dennis OBrien is the new Speaker of the House. He is a good representative for boaters. No new legislation slated for this year. On November 20, 2006, Delaware River Keepers filed a lawsuit against VF dumping in Delaware River. Copies of the lawsuit are available contact Rex. Renewal notices were mailed to customers with boat registrations that will expire on March 31, 2007. Send in registration anyway as it will be corrected in Harrisburg. Coast Guard training on Lake Erie has been canceled. More detailed report on website. Next PBA meeting will be in March.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Previous motion by Doc Borgersen for DRYL to provide monies to League President to cover travel expenses was asked to be withdrawn by President Jusino; but, Doc did not wish to withdraw. Motion was then presented and voted down; motion was presented again in various ways and were all voted against.
LNG Hearings will be held in April
NEW BUSINESS
Toni / Pageant requested $550 deposit for Seaport Museum passed
Mary /Banquet requested $250 deposit for banquet door prizes passed
Bill Garwood - $11 for supplies paid
Juice - $57.98 reimbursement for fruit basket sent to webmaster paid
Mary - $55 for printing of banquet tickets paid
New delegate for Quaker City YC Rick Morris of Cinnaminson, NJ
Doc requested list of DRYL delegates with phone numbers
Quaker City YC volunteered to host a DRYL meeting. This will be discussed at the next meeting.
FINANCIAL REPORTS
A motion was made, seconded and approved to pay the bills.
GOOD AND WELFARE
Discussion about what are NJ clubs charging / reporting for NJ taxes, as clubs must file quarterly reports for dues, storage and dockage, although state has not yet provided forms.
CPR Course: "Doc Annie" will give CPR course on February 3, 2007 at Liberty YC. Cost is $35/pp. For information / reservations, call 856-727-0710.
Many club events planned check website for details. Suggestion was made and ideas are being solicited for the possibility of a reciprocal / multi-function ticket option for parents/escorts of princesses that attend multiple openings/closings that would lessen or defray some of the cost of attending multiple events on the same day.
50/50 winner received $40
