MINUTES - D.R.Y.L. Meeting hosted by Westville Power Boat Association on October 2, 2007

OPENING: Meeting called to order @ 8:10pm. President Jusino introduced Westville Delegate, Ben Lewitt, who welcomed everyone and thanked his wife for preparing the food. Ben is also the Vice Commodore of Riverwinds.

ROLL CALL OF OFFICERS: All present.

ROLL CALL OF COMMITTEE HEADS/ORGANIZATIONS: All present except Ron Blackeby, Safe Boating, and Toni Nespola, Pageant.

ROLL CALL OF CLUBS: 30 clubs present

APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Minutes were accepted, with corrections to treasurer’s report.

OFFICERS & COMMITTEE REPORTS

President: President Jusino was thankful for a good boating season and thanked committee heads for a job well done, especially Joe Gricco and his committee for a good job on the picnic. Also, thanked Riverside Yacht Club for hosting the picnic. Announced Colleen and Brian are having a baby girl and Ron Blackeby is in the hospital.

1st Vice President: John Maloney – no report.

2nd Vice President: Butch Gricco – no report.

3rd Vice President: Steve Zielinski – no report.

Secretary: Rick Patton – HR2550 letters were sent.

Audit & Budget: Bill Branchide – no report.

Banquet: Mary Jusino – no report.

Cruise: Bob is looking for new marinas for the cruise itinerary for 2008.

Donations – no report.

Fleet Surgeon: Doc - no report – mentioned article that stated only 31% of boat owners have insurance.

NJ Legislation: John Honer – met with Joe Roberts about current hot topics. Will meet again next month.

Pageant: no report – John Maloney acknowledged attending princesses.

Picnic: Joe Gricco – Thanks to all who supported picnic. Reported 500+ in attendance. Winners of the competitions and most boats in attendance awards will be announced at the banquet in February. Picnic profit was $2,366.91. Good time was had by all. No problems. Special thanks to Ed Kaelesnik, Riverside Harbor Master.

Public Affairs: Bill Garwood – no report.

Regatta: Fred Saunders – no report.

Safe Boating: Ron Blackeby – no report.

Shoreline Planning: Joe Campbell – Cherokee back in the picture but is concentrating on Pennsauken area at this time; Camden will come later.

Webmaster: Bryon Campbell – thanked everyone for basket. Gave statistics on hits to website. Still need clubs to check their sites to see if information is correct. Send pictures of club events and club newsletters electronically for posting to website.

Yearbook: Denise Leo – Artwork for covers due by November for voting. Photos must be submitted in 300 dpi. Forms will be available by next meeting for 2008 yearbook ads.

Boater Voter: Joe Campbell – no report.

CBYCA: Bob Williams – Senate has companion bill #2067 to support bill #2550. Additional letters will be sent. Bob reviewed the content of the bill #2550. No new information on lemon law.

National Boating Federation (NBF): Bob Williams – no report.

Pennsylvania Boating Association - SE (PBA): Bill Broadwater reported nominations were made. Next meeting is at Delaware River Yacht Club on November 21, 2007. PBA State will meet in the Pittsburgh area in November.

Riverside Yacht Club Closing Day – October 6th – 2pm start – 5pm ceremony

Bob Bocock thanked Butch Gricco for his help ungrounding him at the picnic.

West End crab feast and closing day – October 6th @ 4pm - $35 for adults, $15 for children

Bristol Yacht Club bonfire – Saturday evening, October 6th $15/per person

Harbor Light Yacht Club Closing Day – October 13 @ 2pm

West End Poker Run – November 3rd (by bus) looking for club to host another stop. Call Denise Leo

Neshaminy Harbor Closing Day – October 20th at Bristol Yacht Club – Mardi Gras theme – 4-10pm @ $20/per person
