MINUTES D.R.Y.L. Meeting hosted by Pennsylvania YC on February 6, 2007

OPENING: President Jusino opened the meeting @ 8:07pm. President Jusino introduced Pennsylvania Yacht Club’s Commodore, Steve Zielinski, who welcomed and thanked everyone for attending.

ROLL CALL OF CLUBS: 32 clubs present

ROLL CALL OF OFFICERS: All present except Fleet Surgeon

ROLL CALL OF COMMITTEES/ORGANIZATIONS: All present except Bob Grace, John Honer and Jerry Donofrio

APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Minutes accepted as posted.

OFFICERS & COMMITTEE REPORTS

President: President Paul Jusino accepted motion to accept nominations for club and person of the year. Since only one club and one person were nominated, motion was accepted without vote. Juice reminded that everyone born after 12/31/58 must have boat operator’s license.

1st Vice President: John Maloney asked for moment of silence for two PYC members that passed away recently. PYC will be having fundraisers for the family of Mary Beth Sharp.

2nd Vice President: Butch Gricco thanked the Quaker City YC for the invitation to their ball.

3rd Vice President: Steve Zielinski had no report.

Secretary: Rick Patton asked delegates to complete a form for mailing and e-mail information.

Banquet: Mary Jusino and Colleen Maloney announced last day for tickets was February 17th. Tickets are $42/pp. Formal dress required. Banquet will be on February 24th at Cannstatters @ 7pm.

Cruise: Bob Bocock for Bob Grace. Cruise will be week of July 14th and start a Summit North to Tolchester to Port of Annapolis and end at Baltimore YC. Rates approximately $2 per foot for dockage at each club and $8-$16 per day for electric. $15 per person charge for DRYL sponsored picnics/meals/etc.

Fleet Surgeon: Doc Borgersen absent.

NJ Legislation: No report

Pageant: Toni Nespola introduced Colleen Maloney as attending past princess and asked clubs to let your princesses know the club will pay for them (and a guest) to attend functions. 1st princess meeting is Sunday, May 20th at Wissinoming YC; 2nd princess meeting (public speaking) on Wednesday, June 6th; preliminary judging on Wednesday, August 8th at Cannstatters. Toni will be handing out forms at the March meeting. All forms are available on the DRYL website. Check with Toni for crown sizes (not to exceed 2 ˝ " tall) and information on sashes.

Picnic: Joey Gricco announced the picnic will be September 8, 2007 at Riverside YC from 12:30 to 6:00pm. DJ from 6-10pm. Docking reservations must be made by August meeting – after that, you must make your own arrangements. Boats must be docked by 1:30pm at Riverside and into Harbor Lights by 11:30am. Picnic them is casinos. Tickets will be limited to 600. Nominations for King of the River are needed. Volunteers are also needed to assist at door and help with cooking, etc. Next Picnic Committee meeting in May.

Public Affairs: Bill Garwood reporting. Dupont has pulled out of VX gas dumping. Congratulations to all involved in helping to achieve this goal. However, other companies may try to get contracts. Stay alert. Bill is looking into if casinos on riverfront are going to have dockage available. Original proposals from casinos included docks, but so far, nothing is in the works.

Regatta: Fred Saunders – Poker Run will be last Saturday in July and will be hosted by Farragut SA.

Safety: No report

Shoreline Planning: No report

Webmaster: Bryon Campbell – Byron thanked everyone for their well wishes during recent illness. Asked clubs to send in activity schedules for posting on website.

Yearbook: Club pages should be in by now - if not, please get them in ASAP. Business and personal ads will be taken until April 2nd. If late, no guarantee they will make the yearbook. Contact any vendors that may want to place an ad and get them in.

Boater Voter: Absent

CBYCA: John Garlotta – CBYCA Yearbook is coming up soon. Ads must be in by March 15th. Yearbook distribution will be in April. CBYCA 50th Anniversary cocktail party on April 21st at Bohemia bay. Officers welcome. CBYCA website having problems.

National Boating Federation (NBF): No report

Pennsylvania Boating Association - SE (PBA): Rex Beers – spoke on:

Fish & Boat – wearing of PFDs on boats at all times was voted down

Power restrictions

Fish in Lake Erie have disease – do not take fish out of Lake Erie – mostly bait fish come from there

Delaware River Keepers – may be another bid proposed to dump VX gases even though Dupont has pulled out. So, issue still not over.

DRYL Meeting schedule for 2007/2008 will be posted on website

Sea Scouts Ship 484 applying for Clean Water Act grant. They will develop signboards and wish to display them at DRYL Club Openings and events. Looking for DRYL to endorse program. Motion to agree with action – passed. Copy of project outline on website.

$1,000 advance to Picnic Committee

$1400 advance to Pageant

$120 to webmaster for site space

$9.76 for stationary

$72.72 to secretary to stationary

$99 to Yearbook Committee for software

FINANCIAL REPORTS

A motion was made, seconded and approved to pay the bills.

PYC is accepting donation for family of Mary Beth Sharp
