2013 D.R.Y.L. Poker Run
Yes it was HOT, but that did not stop 214 people from coming out for a day on the water. There was no rain ( FINALLY ), just sunny skies. Club members came out to have fun and enjoy the day on a boat, while visiting some GREAT CLUBS along the river. We also can not forget the other main reason many came out … for the chance to win some cash!

This year Farragut S.A. led the way registering 93 players, Bristol Y.C. had 87 register, and West End B.C. had 37! It was really good to see the South end of the river come out and partake in a event that many of us already knew is a wonderful way to spend a morning / afternoon on the water. The Southern Clubs had crews from Riverside Y.C., National Park B.C, Westville P.B.A., Riverwinds Y.C., West End B.C and Raccoon Creek B.C. I hope they enjoyed the day & will spread word for next year.
Before I get into listing the winners I want to say thank you to all that came out and I hope you all had a nice day and enjoyed the company of friends and boaters from up and down the river. Remember to spread the word for next year!
I need to give a big shout out and many thanks to my good friend and Regatta Committee Head Mark Braberger who spear headed this event. He did a great job for us in getting this organized and finalized.

I must thank the clubs and their members who volunteered to help make this event special for everyone who attended. The clubs and members from Bristol YC, Farragut SA, West End BC, Pennsylvania YC, Quaker City YC, Wissinoming YC, Bridesburg OC, Riverside YC, National Park BC, and Westville PBA all came thru for us and I thank you all. I have to mention Bristol YC and thank them yet again as they gave much needed morning nourishment and fluids to those who registered at their club, and to Farragut SA for not only feeding and hydrating those water travelers when they arrived at their club later in the afternoon, but for finding dock space for the over 100 boats that all seemed to come in at 2:45.
Bottom line here, everyone I asked had a great time, and it appeared to me that a good time was had by all. I know that 6 people really, really, really, had good time as they took home some smack-a-roos, dead presidents, green backs, bread, moola – CASH MONEY !! – But better yet, we will have a cash donation to give to an organization, family, or group as of our next Delegate Meeting when the Delegates vote on who to give this donation to.

Summer Heffelfinger, a Past Bristol YC Princess was lucky enough to take 1st Place with (4) Sixes and took home $1688
