*Boating Education For All Saturday March 13^th 2010*
The Pennsylvania Boating Association (PBA) believes that boating education is
necessary for all boaters regardless of when they were born. All boaters should
take an approved boating-safety education course, so you can learn something
new, be updated on current boating laws and obtain a boating certificate blue
card.
A course will be given by the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (FB&C)
instructors at the Delaware River Yacht Club. This will be an all day course
8:30 AM. to 4:30 PM. the cost
is $20.00 for a continental breakfast & lunch. At the completion of the
curriculum you will be tested. You will send your approved test to the FB&C
with a check for $10.00 and your boating certificate blue card will be sent to
you. The card is good for a lifetime.
Make your reservation and send your $20.00 check for food & beverage by
February 27 2010 to the Delaware River Yacht Club, 9635 Milnor Street,
Philadelphia Pa 19114. Make your check payable to the Delaware River Yacht

*Pennsylvania***
A person 11 years of age or younger may not operate a personal watercraft or a
boat propelled by a motor greater than 25 horsepower. A person 12 through
15 years of age may not operate a personal watercraft if there are any
passengers onboard 15 years of age or younger. Persons born on or after
January 1, 1982 may not operate a motorboat greater 25 horsepower without a
blue card which you can obtain by taking a safe boating course and pass the
examination.

*Delaware***
The Delaware Division of Fish and Wildlife currently has a mandatory boater
education requirement requiring all boaters born after January 1, 1978 to have
the Delaware boating safety education certificate on board when the vessel is
underway to satisfy the Delaware boating regulations. Boaters who wish to
operate a motorized vessel, including a personal watercraft, in Delaware waters
must possess a boating safety education certificate.

*New Jersey** *
As of June 1, 2009, all persons who wish to operate a motorized vessel,
including a personal watercraft in New Jersey waters, must possess a boating
safety education certificate.
