2007 Crown Requirements

When choosing a crown for your princess please do not exceed 2 ˝ inches high. Our Queen should be the only crown that exceeds 2 ˝ inches high. Furthermore, when you have a large crown they are heavier and tend to fall off the girls head easier and possible into the water or break. This will be a mandatory requirement!!!!!!

You can purchase crowns on line at stumpsprom.com or at any bridal salon. Keep in mind the bridal shops are very expensive. One last place I know to purchase crowns is Cote’ Inc, 74 West Bridge St, Morrisville, Pa 215-295-8156, www.cote-inc.com. If you have any questions please call me.

Sashes

Sashes should only be 4 ˝ inches wide and 72 inches long. You will need 1 large piece of material so there will be no seems. Sashes are traditionally finished in club colors. The year on the sash is optional pending on the club requirements and budgets.

There is an order form for local vendors that make the Queen’s sash and several other princess sashes for the DRYL.

2007 Scoring

The scoring will remain the same as last year.

The breakdown is as follows:

50% Pageant Interviews

40% Evening Pageant Questions

10% DRYL/Club Activities

This means that each time a princess visits a club for an opening day, club picnic or attends a Pageant meeting she will need to get a signature from the hosting club’s commodore and Pageant Committee member in a book that will be provided to her. The dates of eligibility are April 1 thru Wednesday, August 8, 2007. Every contestant has the potential to be crowned Miss DRYL Queen. This Pageant is and always has been about the well rounded individual.

I want to make sure I am clear that each princess will only receive credit for 24 events as last year.  This does not mean that she is required to attend 24 events!!!!!  The Queen's Pageant Committee would like all of the princesses to be active but not to the point that girls are traveling to 2/3 clubs a day We do not want that!  I prefer that princesses attend 1 club event a day so you can stay and enjoy the club's events of the day and there is no pressure to coordinate times and rides.

Please note that any home club event that she attends she will receive credit for as long as she gets a signature from the commodore and another club officer that was present at the event.

If there are any questions or concerns related to the 2007 Pageant or information in this memo, please contact me directly by phone or e-mail.
