Fleet Surgeon: Harry Borgersen – no report.

Pageant: Toni Nespola – no report.

Picnic: Butch Gricco – Approximately 300 people attended the picnic during the hurricane. No club competitions were held because of the weather. However, Riverside Yacht Club allowed the children’s activities to go on inside the club. Thanks to all that helped. Reported income of $11,146 with expenditures of $10,552.64 leaving a profit of $593.36. Effective immediately, Joe Gricco resigned as Picnic Chairman. He thanked his committee and all the clubs that supported him during his tenure.

Public Affairs: Bill Garwood – Part of an article was read from Boat US concerning NJ legislation that has placed a moratorium on the Department of Environmental Protection requiring marinas to open up significant amounts of waterfront property to the public (public domain). This legislation prevents the EPA from demanding public access as a condition for obtaining state permits for site improvement or expansion work. Juice received an e-mail that said the Fish and Boat Commission extended the grant program

until the end of the month. Willing to give 75% for land acquisition as long as we keep land access open to the water in Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania non-profit clubs may want to look into this. Juice will send the e-mail to clubs.

Regatta: Fred Saunders – no report.

Safe Boating: Frank Gilbert – Articles were distributed. One concerning signaling for help and another on how to assemble a ditch bag for emergencies.

Shoreline Planning: Joe Campbell – Reported that FSA is getting new neighbors. The Salvation Army Community Center is finally breaking ground on a $31 million facility, which is being financed by the Croc Foundation (McDonald’s).

Webmaster: Paul Jusino/Ben Lewitt – Westville gave Juice pictures to be put on the website. Always looking for pictures from clubs. Send to Juice for posting.

Yearbook: Paul Jusino – next month will be selection of yearbook covers at National Park. Make sure information and spelling is correct. Pictures must be at least 8.5” x 11” and camera ready (300 dpi). $200 prize for best cover.

Boater Voter: Joe Campbell – reiterated what Bill Garwood addressed concerning public access issues. Mentioned that legislation will be revisited in 2009.

CBYCA: Bob Williams – no report.

National Boating Federation (NBF): Bob Williams – no report.

NJ Legislation: John Honer – no report.
